Knowl Hill Fell Race (HOT)

On leaving the Knowl Hill Fell Race the car thermometer was reading 29 degrees C, which made for interesting race conditions on the day, but worth it.

The race was in the Saddleworth Runners Club Championships, and the local Area Fell Race Grand Prix. So well attended by a number of clubs, with 16 Saddleworth Runners. Kit was relaxed and yours truly chose to run with no kit, including water, in what can only be described as dry and hot conditions across a 6 mile, 1,300 feet climb fast race. The second time running the race and whilst hot was thoroughly enjoyable, but it did not fell like that at the time.

Michael Gradwell led the Sadds in a cracking run, myself second having to hold off a persistent Kevin Jones. A well done for a great fourth place dash went to Chris Roberts (thoroughly deserved for a new fell runner).
