SURVIVED THE SCOTLAND COAST TO COAST CHALLENGE OVER THE WEEKEND

Well I survived the Scotland Coast To Coast Challenge over the weekend – http://www.scotlandcoasttocoast.com – which was an amazing experience with amazing scenery, and with amazing weather!

Day one:

Nairn to Cawdor – 7 mile cross country run (weather okay).

Cawdor to Fort Augustus (Loch Ness) – 48 mile bike ride (weather terrible, with an increadibly strong headwind, the likes of which I have never seen. So bad I almost gave up, and all were affected. You even had to cycle downhill; an absolute nightmare).

At Fort Augustus – 2 mile kayak and run to finish point (weather fine and okay).

Day two:

Fort Augustus to Fort William – 33 mile bike ride, with 16 off road (difficult as up into the mountains and it poured with rain – wet and cold).

Fort William to Glencoe – 14 mile fell run (hideous, up into the mountains and lots of climbing with really bad rain; coming off the mountains wet and forzen and exhausted).

Glencoe – 1 mile kayak to the final finish (weather okay, but cold, wet, and tired).

All in all one heck of a challenge… Mind you I am proud as I came in at 375 out of 574 who completed the event with basically no training! You can click this link for the results.
